I talk a lot about strength training for women and as the title indicates, I can't "stress" it enough. The reason why the word stress is in quotations is that weight training can also help reduce your cortisol levels caused by stress which when too high or prolonged, can be a huge factor in weight gain.
The great thing about lifting weights is that you can do it at home on a snowy day. If you have 2-5 lb. dumbbells, you can turn an otherwise NO-EXERCISE day into a NO-EXCUSE NOT to exercise day. And you can get cardio and strength in at the same time without any impact on your joints what-so-ever. This will double your effect on the cortisol and you get a heck of a lot more bang for your buck!
