DAY 5- GET UP and MOVE!!

You should get up from your desk every 30 minutes and try to move at least for 1-3 minutes. Sedentary desk jobs or any sitting for prolonged periods actually causes more than just extra pounds. New research shows that sitting too long interferes with system's functions. For example, blood sugar could be affected by sitting too long which can contribute to diabetes.  That's just one of many examples.  Compression of the spine is another which can lead to a whole host of issues and injuries.

Be aware of how long you are actually sitting.  Get up. Do some marches in place. Standing pelvic tilts and/or just lift your knees while pulling arms down.  Get creative. If you're not allowed or your cubicle doesn't lend itself to an activity, go to a bathroom!   Do it. Your health depends on it!
