DAY 16- The Everyday Stressor and it's Relation to Weight Gain

Every single day from the moment we wake up until the moment we go to bed at night, there is an infinite number of stressors that affect our performance. Life's daily demands can be overwhelming at times.  Juggling career, kids, school activities, aging parents, trying to fit in time for a workout. Some of us have the above on our plates all at once!
Cortisol levels rise naturally after a meal and also acts as our inflammation regulator. Too much cortisol hanging around for too long can cause an inflammation response that not only leads to weight gain but almost everything that can go wrong in your body.  Unhealthy, processed foods with added sugar and chemicals are the perfect recipe for elevated levels of cortisol. As with any hormone, a certain amount is needed and beneficial but when thrown out of balance, your whole system will follow.
So if you or someone you know is experiencing "unexplained" weight gain, get your stress in check and pay more attention to eating cleaner.  An occasional treat or what one might consider "bad" or "cheat" foods is perfectly fine once in awhile. In fact, you should allow it for yourself because being TOO strict and always worried about what to eat can also cause stress! I know.  It's not easy ladies. But that's what I'm here for.  It's a continual learning process for me as well. But I am happy and blessed to try to help make it a little easier for you.
